I saw an image of a pair of scissors. I feel that God wants to cut the ties that bind us to this world and set us free from the hold of worldly things. I feel that He desires to take us higher, but for that to happen, we have to be released from this world and focus fully on heavenly things.
I felt God saying, “My child, submit yourself to Me and allow Me to cut you loose from the ties of this world. I desire to free you from the restraints that are holding you back. I desire My followers not to be a part of this world, but to be fully focused on the things of My Kingdom.”
I was reminded of Galatians 6:14 – “May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”
Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, we are no longer a part of this world and the world no longer has a hold on us. Let us then eagerly seek to loosen all bonds that have become a part of our lives, and let us strip “off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus”. (Hebrews 12:1-2, AMP)
Lord, I pray that we would surrender ourselves to You fully, that You may inspect our hearts and remove anything that is of the world and not of You. Let us cast off the things that hinder us in our lives, that we may actively pursue You and the calling that You have placed on our lives. Amen.
