I saw an image of a hot air balloon. My attention was drawn to the flame which drives the hot air balloon upwards. I feel that God is saying that the flame He has placed in our hearts drives us closer to Him and allows us to rise to a new level of intimacy with God, in the same way as the hot air balloon.
I felt God saying, “Let My fire burn within you. Follow My lead and I will guide you upwards to a new level of intimacy with Me. Draw near to Me, fanning the flame of the fire within you. Do not allow it to grow cold or dull, but continually ignite it in My presence. “
When we spend time in God’s presence, the flame inside us is reignited continually. When we distance ourselves from God’s presence, the flame is dulled by the things of the flesh and the world. By sitting at God’s feet, He fans the flame within our hearts and lifts us up to a new level of intimacy with Him.
I was reminded of Luke 10:39 and 42 – “ She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said.” “ But few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.””
Let us also choose to sit at the feet of God, listening eagerly to His voice, allowing the flame within us to be built up and rising to a new level of intimacy with God.
