Wash Each Other’s Feet

I saw an image of a person with bare feet standing before me. I feel that God is saying that we should wash one another’s feet, building each other up and serving one another.

I felt God saying, “Follow My example and wash the feet of those around you. Serve them wholeheartedly as if serving Me. Do not become hard hearted and turn from those around you, but serve them with a cheerful heart. I am pleased with a cheerful giver who gives freely of their time for the building up of My Kingdom.”

I was reminded of Colossians 3:23-24 – “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” and Matthew 25:40 – “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”

Let us serve one another as if serving the Lord, with a cheerful heart. When the body of Christ works together, building each other up, serving one another and reaching out to the community from a place of unity, we display God’s heart.

John 13:14-15 – “Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. ”

Let us follow Jesus’ example, washing the feet of those around us, serving them and building them up. When we do this, we humble ourselves and become unified as a Body. The different parts of the body are all important and “this makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. ” (1 Cor. 12:25)

Let us serve one another with love, humbling ourselves and washing one another’s feet in the same manner as if serving the Lord.
