I saw an image of a braai (South African barbeque). A braai represents the fellowship and joy of a group of people gathering together. I feel that God is saying that He desires us to have a deeper relationship with Him. In the same way that we spend time with people around a braai, strengthening our relationships with them and discussing topics with each other, so God desires us to come into His presence, spending time with Him, discussing different topics.
I heard God saying, “Draw near to me my child. I desire to spend time with you. I desire to have a relationship with you. Come and sit at the table with me. Discuss your life, your worries and your joys with me. I want to be part of all of these things. Do not think that because I already know all things, that I do not want to hear them from you. I want to hear from you and have fellowship with you. I enjoy listening to you and I desire to have conversations with you.”
I was reminded of John 15:4 – “Remain in Me, and I [will remain] in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself without remaining in the vine, neither can you [bear fruit, producing evidence of your faith] unless you remain in Me.”
Let us spend time with God so strengthening our relationship with Him.
