I saw an image of a long, straight and narrow boardwalk. I feel that God is encouraging us to stay on the narrow road, pressing on towards the finish line that He has placed before us.
I heard God saying, ” My child, I have set before you the narrow way. Do not waver or doubt but continue to walk forward, steadfastly, trusting in My love and My provision. I know it may seem difficult at times, however the blessing is great. Continue to press on and to press forward. Stay in My light and in My way. Do not wander off, but continue to pursue the finish line. For I have laid this road before you and I will help you to stay on it. When you feel tempted to turn away, draw near to Me, press into My presence and allow Me to strengthen you and to give you My easy yoke. I will be like a resting place along the way. Come into My presence and allow My presence to invigorate you and to fill you with energy for the rest of the road. I will also be your faithful companion who is by your side, walking each step with you. I will guide you and lead you. I will bear your burden with you and I will encourage you. Do not give up but continue to press on. Keep your eyes fixed ahead, focusing on the finish line.”
I was reminded of Matthew 7:14 – “But small is the gate and narrow and difficult to travel is the path that leads the way to [everlasting] life, and there are few who find it.” and Hebrews 12:1 – “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us,”
Let us eagerly run the race that God has laid before us, pressing on and enduring the difficulties in life, for God will strengthen us and help us along the way. He is the fountain that refreshes and recharges us. Let us pursue God continually, spending time in His life-giving presence.
