I saw an image of a spade leaning against a wall. I feel that God is calling us to take up our spades and till the hard ground of the hearts of the people around us, so that when the seeds of truth land in their hearts they will grow and flourish.
I heard God saying, “Beloved, take up your spade and follow the direction of My voice, tilling the ground and making it fruitful. Do not rely on your own strength but trust in My strength for I will be with you. I will show you where to till the ground and My Holy Spirit will breathe life and nutrients into the ground as you till it, so that when I sow the seeds they will spring up like new shoots. Follow My guidance as I will lead you to the right places where you should till. Watch how I will make the harvest grow. Do not become discouraged when you see the dry and barren land around you, but trust in Me for I can bring streams of water from the desserts and I will bring new life and new plants in the wasteland.”
I was reminded of Matthew 13:3-8 – “Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
Let us listen closely to God’s voice as He guides us, tilling the ground of the people’s hearts that He leads us to, so that the seeds of God’s Word may spring up as an abundant harvest in their hearts.
