I heard God saying, “Beloved, turn your eyes upon Me, focus fully on Me. Do not allow the enemy’s attacks to distract you. The enemy has come with a strategy to distract My people and to fill their days with busyness, but I urge you to set aside the time to be still in My presence, to sit at My feet and listen to My voice. Do not allow the enemy to rise up against you and to draw you away from Me, but continue to eagerly pursue and to actively anticipate the time that you spend with Me. Do not allow the busyness of this world to distract you from Me, but continue to press into My presence. For in that place of quietness and rest in My presence, you will hear My voice directing you, encouraging you and building you up. So, draw near to Me, allow the peacefulness of My presence to reign in your heart. I desire to spend time with My children and it pleases Me when they sit at My feet, eagerly listening to My voice and enjoying the time in My presence. So, continue to pursue Me and to deepen your intimacy and your relationship with Me. For that will be your weapon to stand up against the attacks of the enemy.”
I was reminded of Luke 10:39-42 – She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Let us focus our attention on God, not allowing the world to distract us or to fill our days with being busy, but rather, to sit at the feet of Jesus, listening to Him.
