I saw an image of a dustpan. I feel that God is saying that He wants us to surrender ourselves to Him, so that He may work in our hearts, removing the things that are not from Him. In the same way that the dustpan is required to completely remove the discarded matter which the brush has gathered, so God wants to completely remove the things in our hearts and lives that He has loosened and gathered.
I felt God saying, “My child, surrender yourself to Me and allow Me to examine your heart. Let Me remove the things that are not meant to be there, for this makes room for the good things I have planned to grow. I desire you to be vulnerable before Me and to submit to Me, so that I can shape you for the plans I have in mind.”
I was reminded of Psalm 139:23-24 – “Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way” and Psalm 26:2 – “Examine me, LORD, and put me to the test; refine my mind and my heart.”
Lord, I pray that you will examine our hearts and remove anything that is not of You. Refine our minds and hearts, purifying us. Root up the weeds that have taken root in our hearts, and replace them with seeds from Your Kingdom. Amen.
