I saw an image of two different parachutes. One was a skydiving parachute flying high up in the air, and the other was a parachute dragging on the ground behind the person. I feel that the parachutes represent our relationship with God. Without a strong relationship with God, we are unable to fly to new heights with Him.
I felt God saying, “Enter My presence continually, so that I can strengthen and refine you. I desire to build a relationship with you that is able to withstand all trials and attacks. Time spent in My presence strengthens this relationship and our hearts become intertwined. When tough times come, this relationship will carry you through. You will not stumble or fall. “
God desires to spend time with us, edifying us and building our relationship with Him. In times of trials and the storms of life, we can know that God will carry us through. Our relationship with God is the parachute, and the wind that carries us is the Holy Spirit. When our relationship with God is strong, He is able to take us higher than before and to reveal more to us. However, if our relationship with God is not being built up, we are unable to reach new heights.
I was reminded of Isaiah 40:31 – “But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] will gain new strength and renew their power; they will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not grow tired.”
Let us eagerly sit at God’s feet, growing in our relationship with Him and allowing Him to lead us in His purposes for our lives.
