I saw an image of a rifle used for target shooting. I feel that God is saying that in the same way that the person aims at the target with complete focus, so we should also aim at the finish line that God has placed before us, focusing on the calling that He has placed on our lives.
I heard God saying, “My child, I desire you to fix your gaze upon the finish line, so that in the same way that you aim a gun upon a target, so I desire you to fix your gaze upon the finish line that I have set before you. I desire you to pursue it wholeheartedly, to chase after it with focus, so that you will not be distracted by the things of this world. I desire you to tune your ear to My voice and to listen carefully to My instructions in how to aim, for I will ensure that you run the race with endurance and in the right direction, as long as you heed to My instructions. So, listen carefully to My voice, allow My words to guide you and to direct you. Do not lose focus or become distracted by the world, but focus on Me and continue to push forward and to pursue the fulfilment of the calling that I have placed on your life. Do not give up or become tired, but continue to come to Me for refreshment and rejuvenation, so that you can continue to run the race with endurance. “
I was reminded of Hebrews 12:1-2 – Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
Colossians 3:2 – Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value].
Let us keep our focus and aim upon God, pursuing the finish line that He has placed before us. Let us actively pursue Him and all that He has in store for us, not being distracted by the things of this world.
