Oil in Jars

I saw an image of a water tank which is used to store up water for times of drought. I feel that God is saying that we should store up spiritual water for ourselves, which we can rely on in times of drought. Just as five of the ten virgins in Matthew took oil in jars along with their lamps, so that they had enough oil,; so we also should do.

I heard God saying, “Store up for yourself a supply of oil in these days. Do not run low, for I require My followers to have their lamps stocked with oil, and a surplus of oil stored up and ready. For when I return, I desire you to have your lamps filled with oil, ready to meet Me. So, do not allow your gaze to drift away from Me and to become occupied with things of less importance. For I desire you to store up for yourself the water of My kingdom, so that in times of drought, that water will carry you through. So, come to Me, seeking more of the water that I will give to you. Do not merely seek small amounts for daily use, but seek the more. For I am willing to give out in abundance and I desire to pour out more of My water upon you. I desire you to store up water, so that you will not run dry.”

Matthew 25:1-7 – At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’ “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’

Let us keep our focus on God, seeking more of His oil, so that we may be like the wise ones who took oil in jars.
