The Good Shepherd

I saw an image of a shepherd’s staff. It was illuminated with light. I feel that God is saying that He will guide us and protect us with His staff, for He is the good shepherd.

I heard God saying, “Beloved, take up your cross and follow Me, for I am the good shepherd. I will protect you and I will guide you. With My rod and My staff I will comfort you. Listen to My voice, for My sheep know My voice. Follow Me and I will lead you along the right path for your life. I will never leave you nor forsake you. So continue to follow My guidance. Do not fear the wolves of this world who try to attack you, for when you stay close to Me, I will protect you.”

I was reminded of Psalm 23:4 – “The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], I shall not want. He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still and quiet waters. He refreshes and restores my soul (life); He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake; Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me.”

Let us follow God’s guidance in our lives, knowing that He will protect us and provide for us. He is the guiding light which illuminates the path before us.
